Step 7: Claiming your Cabin or Stateroom for the First time

Upon boarding the Titanic, your first destination should be the Purser's Office, which is located on D-Deck (note that this is not the original location). The Purser is another Smart NPC who can engage in conversation with the AVAC NFT holders. These NPCs are programmed to provide notecards with prompts that will help you interact with them effectively, receiving direct answers to your inquiries.

Start a conversation with the Purser, who will offer a prompt notecard for guidance. You can also ask him directly, "Where is my room or stateroom?" To help locate your assigned cabin, the Purser will request your MetaMask wallet address containing the AVAC NFT. Once provided, he will reveal your room number, which will be in the format of a deck letter followed by a number.

To find your cabin, look for the deck letter and room numbers clearly marked at every section of the deck entrance and above the doors. As you enter your cabin, take a moment to appreciate the historical atmosphere and imagine yourself aboard the Titanic in 1912. Each cabin is pre-furnished, but future upgrades will be available for purchase using $AVAC, our ERC-20 token earned through staking AVAC NFTs.

Inside the cabin, all holders will discover an AVAC Ape Avatar, with some receiving special Avatars. It is important to note that using these Avatars is optional. Regardless of your choice, take time to configure your Avatar and ensure it aligns with the Titanic's 1912 setting. To enhance your experience, you can acquire additional Edwardian clothing and accessories from the Second Life Marketplace. Keep in mind that purchasing these items will require Linden Dollars, Second Life's in-world currency.

Setting Your Cabin or Stateroom as "Home"

To make your Titanic experience even more seamless, we recommend setting your cabin or stateroom as your "home" location. This way, when you log in to Second Life, you'll start directly in your cabin. Here's how to set your cabin as your "home":

  1. Stand inside your cabin or stateroom.

  2. Click on the "World" menu at the top of your screen.

  3. Select "Set Home to Here" from the dropdown menu.

Your cabin or stateroom is now set as your "home" location. When logging in to Second Life, make sure you have "Home" selected as your starting location. This can be done by going to the Second Life login screen, clicking the "Start at" dropdown menu, and selecting "Home".

Important Note: To ensure that you always start in your cabin or stateroom, be sure to return to your cabin before logging off Second Life. This will make your experience aboard the Titanic even more immersive and convenient.
