During the Second Metacruise (May 2023), firearms were made available to players who completed the Moretti Storyline. The first Firearm will be the 1910 Luger, and below is your guide to using it.
Firstly, you'll need to equip the Gun from your Inventory using either "Add" or "Wear", once this is done you'll see the weapon within your right hand.
After equipping the gun, simply right click it and you'll see a blue menu appear at the top right-hand corner of your screen. This gives you options to change the ammunition, the fire-rate or even reload the weapon entirely.
The Menu as seen in the above photo gives you all of the options needed to work the gun prior to firing. It is recommended that you select "Ammo" and then choose "Damage3" and keep this as your default setting when using the Luger or any other firearm. The Damage3 setting enables real-time Damage to other players or Bad Actors, and this may prove vital in defending yourself should the situation arise.
After you have made your selections, you are then good to go ahead and discharge the Weapon accordingly. We do not recommend you shoot upon random Avatars as this will not only affect your standing in the community, it may prove to be annoying to others as using the Damage3 setting will result in Death for those players when fired upon.
Do also note, that via the main menu you can 'sling' or holster your weapon by pressing the button. The weapon will then turn invisible, and to reactiviate it you will need to again click your right hand and the menu will reappear, where you can then select 'draw' to make the weapon appear.
To fire the weapon, you'll need to access the 'Mouselook' settings via your movement control panel. This can be found by the following settings:
Once you have the Movement Control Panel showing on your screen, you'll need to press the Mouselook button to access First Person Mode. The mouselook button is a simple image of a Mouse and you'll click this once.
Upon pressing Mouselook, you'll enter first person mode. You can move around using your arrow keys and fire your weapon by clicking the left hand button of the Mouse. You'll also notice a little crosshair in the centre of the Screen, this is the guide from which you'll aim your weapon when talking a shot:
Shooting another person within 1912 is not recommended as they will be killed by the SL health-system. This is represented by the health-bar at the top of your view and by default will always be set to 100%
When a players health separate to the AVAC HUD, is sent to 0% then they will automatically die and be teleported back to their Home location. During a Metacruise this could also mean that they are teleported off the Ship and unable to return, given that this would be impossible whilst at Sea. This is why you must use a degree of responsibility when using Firearms aboard the Ship, you could dramatically affect the experiences and enjoyment of others, but also make enemies. Please use your weapons responsibly.
