Teleportation in Second Life

In this section, we'll discuss teleportation in Second Life and how to navigate the virtual world using the mini-map, large map, and landmarks. Teleportation is an essential tool for moving around quickly and efficiently, but it's important to use it wisely during your time aboard the Titanic.

Mini-Map and Large Map

The mini-map is a small, resizable map that displays your immediate surroundings. You can access it by clicking the "Mini-Map" button on the toolbar or by pressing Ctrl+Shift+M. The large map, on the other hand, provides a more extensive view of the entire Second Life world. You can access the large map by clicking the "World" menu and selecting "Map" or by pressing Ctrl+M.

Both the mini-map and the large map allow you to search for locations, view landmarks, and teleport to various destinations. However, keep in mind that if you teleport off the Titanic during the Metacruise, you will not be able to rejoin until the next Metacruise. To avoid this situation and fully enjoy the experience, it's crucial not to teleport anywhere once you're aboard the Titanic.

Landmarks

Landmarks are special locations in Second Life that you can save and revisit quickly. To create a landmark, simply right-click on the ground and select "Create Landmark Here." This will add a new landmark to your inventory, which you can use to teleport directly to the saved location.

When using landmarks, always remember the importance of staying aboard the Titanic during the Metacruise. Teleporting to other locations could disrupt your experience and prevent you from rejoining the Metacruise until it has concluded.

By understanding teleportation in Second Life and using the tools provided responsibly, you can efficiently navigate the virtual world while also preserving the integrity and immersive nature of the Titanic Metacruise experience.
